Today is the first day that I step my foot in the New Territories, the north part of Hong Kong. We get ourselves a West Rail Day Pass for 20HKD each. With this pass, we can travel around on a number of transportation within the area for the day. On this gloomy day, we arrive at the Hong Kong Wetland Park. The Park boosts an area of 61 hectares and is the habitat of a diversity of wildlife. Even though the Park is so close to town, it is nice to walk in the good air. We observe some birds through telescopes and enjoy the beautiful views of flowers along the way. Before the Park closes at 5pm, we have a quick walk through the exhibition galleries.
We go to Yuen Long town centre by light rail. There we enjoy a big meal of huge salad and huge sushi, which measures almost like the length of a human palm. After that, we wander around the town centre where you can hardly find any tourists, just typical Hong Kong residential scenes.
