I’m very excited about today. Doing the two day “Surf n Sand Safari” to Moreton Island (National Park) tour that I booked for last week. The group consist of 20 people from USA, Canada, England and Germany. It starts very early in the morning with a transport to a nice Cruise ship that takes us to the Island. There is no pier for the ship. The jeeps drive from the ferry right on the beach. We drive with two Toyota Landcruiser Jeeps along the beach and through the jungle.

First stop is “The Desert”. A small desert on the Island where we get (Snow)boards and surf the sand dunes downhill. That’s alot of fun.

We visit some old bunkers from the second world war, saw a huge unfortunately dead turtle and drive to a lookout point. The view over the large sand island with the long beaches and the jungle is amazing.

We drive to a small lake and some have a short bath. The water is very cold.

Until Sunset we drive along the Beach and walk through the Jungle. See some interesting flowers that are eatable and some nice remote beaches like ‘The Honeymoon Bay’.

After Sunset we drive to the Base camp and prepare a dinner at the campfire.

The Starts are amazingly bright here. At the beach you can see starts in the horizon. There’s no light pollution around.

We get up very early at the next morning and ‘learn to surf’ at 7 am. Later we chill at the Blue lagoon – a huge lake with tasty but very cold freshwater.

We drive to the place where the Ferry will land and go snorkeling between some ship wrecks.

There are lot’s of fish around us attracted by the bread that we feed them. The sea is cold but we get wetsuits and life jackets. at about 4 pm we pack our stuff together and go onboard the ferry back to Brisbane.
