In the next days I go to the International Digital Entertainment Festival ( iDEF ). Part of it is the Develop Symposium for game developers and the Games Expo for consumers. It all takes part in the Melbourne Exhibition Center.
There are quite alot interesting speakers at the Develop Symposium.
Tony Keusgen from Google tells us about the Google concepts and the latest applications like Google News Archive which shall find information’s in all ever printed newspaper and Google insight search which shows who searches what when and where.
Simon Allen animator at Pixar show’s his work and demo reel and speaks about Working at Pixar.
Glenn Melenhorst creative director at iloura show’s work from the company and tells about 3D Animation and Visual Effects in Australia.
Ted Hung former employee at Lucas Arts, Electronic Arts and now teaching at Qantum speaks about his experience in the Game Industry and about a Future of Game Development in Australia. His very interesting Presentation slides can be downloaded here.
All nicely moderated by Justin Brow founder of 60Sox. He also spends a huge Bar tab for the after show party.
It’s a great time to speak with very interesting people, do some networking, getting some advice and hoping for great job opportunities.
