2008-12-05 – 07 Perth to the Pinnacles

Andreas and I fly from Melbourne to Perth. We rent a Van and make our way up the west coast.
The first stop is “The Pinnacles” in the Nambung National Park. A really astonishing mars like landscape. A former coral reef turned into a desert. Coral Rocks standing upright out of the sand dunes like Termite towers. We watch the Sunset at this place. Andreas likes to record time-lapse videos of Sunset’s and Sunrises.
We drive to the nearby coast to set up the van for the night. The Backpacker Campervan is very comfortable and well designed. Mosquito nets in front of the windows, Build in Sink with water tank, two eskies and a gas grill to cook on.
The stars are bright in the sky far from any artificial light source. We paint in the sky with torches.
