The next day we get up early to get the sunrise at the Pinnacles. We drive up north to the Kalbarri National Park. On the way we pass by a dry lake with centimeter thick layer of salt on the ground and a pink lake next to the salt lake.
The landscape of the Kalbarri National Park looks a bit similar to the Grand Canyon in the USA. The Canyon is huge. Wonderful Nature, stones carved by Wind and Rain. There’s a “Natural Window” where a huge whole is carved in the stone. It’s really hot here. There are lots of Bushes with Spider webs around and really big Spiders wait for their prey. We made our way up through Shark Bay to Monkey Mia. It’s a wonderful beach with wild dolphins swimming around and emus are walking over the campground. We stay over night here.
Next day we drive south east direction to Hyden. Stop at Shell Beach. The name is really fitting. The whole beach consist of shells. No sand just shells. There was a huge tick between the shells trying to get on our skin. Was interesting to see that they have ticks in Australia. Guess they came with the cats, dogs, rabbits and foxes from Europe. It is very windy today so we decided to stay over night at this place. A wicked camper van joined us. We drove the vans close togeather to build a corner with less wind to be able to cook.
