Bed Bugs:
After seven and a half Month sleeping in Hostels it was time to happen. Got a bed with bedbugs included. Yuk! For all who don’t know these bed bugs. They are living in the matrace or Bed frame. In the night when someone sleeps in the bed they come out, bite you and suck your blood. Some People don’t realize it at all. Some react allergic. When I first saw the bites I thought these are Miskito bites. But I spend the second day in the room working on Brochures. Got more bites. My elbow and arm is swollen very thick and it’s itchy like hell. I could not sleep most of the night and keep scratching. Told the Reception of the Citybackpackers Brisbane . They are fully booked and can’t relocate me in another room and wouldn’t do so to keep the infection condemned. They Cleaned the matrace with hot steam and also the bed frame and my luggage. I put all my cloth in plastic bags, closed them and put them in the hot sunlight. I found a dead bug on my matrace later on.
Still the night was horrible. It’s itchy everywhere and I got more bites. Told them again. The bed was sprayed with pestisides then. Still no other bed for me. That’s surely one of the worst night’s I had so far. Finally a day later I could move to another room.
Notebook Crash:
Got a bit of bad luck with my notebook. I’m kind of running out of storage. The Hard disk has a huge recovery partition with Windows Vista which I do not need at all. So I tried to delete this Partition and add the Space to my D Partition with a Partition Magic CD. I knew that it will take some time so I let the notebook work overnight. The next morning was a horrifying wake up. The Operation has failed at 48%. The notebook did not boot anymore cause Partition Magic had moved the C Partition partly. I got a Windows XP recovery Disk from Sony. Thing is that this Disk want’s to assign new Partitions and format them. No way – I would loose all my pictures, Projects and Mails on my D Partition. It’s kind of tough to get a Boot disk without a Computer. After one day trying to get a boot disk I decided to buy I a 320GB WD Hard disk and replace the one in the Notebook. Now I could use the Sony Recovery Disk and after a Pain in the Ass long time to install all the drivers and Programs I could get to my data on the old D Partition of the old Drive. Still all data on the old C Partition is lost. I tried to recover them with some unformat / undelete tools but all I got was rubbish. While I replaced the Disk I realized that the magnesium body of the Notebook was damaged. Guess traveling is extrem stressfull for hardware.
Job hunt:
The Interview came out quite well. But I didn’t get the call back if I get the job or not. So I called them. They take other people first cause they have more Job experience than I do. Education seems to be worthless if you got no Work experience. And if you don’t get a Job you don’t get the experience….You know the situation.
Thing is, they said maybe in two weeks. How can I service another two weeks without getting money? I’ll keep looking for other work opportunities.
