2008-03-26 Hong Kong

Sin Sze takes me on a tram driving east of Hong Kong Island today. We make a breakfast stop at the tiny but homey Peony Cafe in Shau Kei Wan. There we order mushroom cheese toastie, chicken salad sandwich, mint and ginger milk tea. It is surely a delicious start of the day.
Next comes one of the highlights of the day – Museum of Coastal Defence (free entry on Wednesdays yeah!) – it is a place of educational, historical information yet fun to have a walk around. And a place full of surveillance cameras.
After visiting the museum, we go to watch 10,000 BC at the cinema. We buy some Chinese style buns in a local bakery to go with the movie. I like the fresh taste of the soft steamed buns, I definitely would recommend you to try it when you are here.
For part of our dinner, we enjoy a rice burger meal at MOS Burger, the other part is a hotpot rice with randomly-chopped chicken and mini oyster omelet at Temple Street, last but not least I try dessert with durian for the first time in my life – I find out that I neither love nor hate it. Right, my stomach is so damn full right now – exercises very much needed!
