2008-10-11 -> 13 Whitsunday Islands

This noon Jens and me start the sailing trip in the Whitsunday Islands. We booked a three day two nights tour on a catamaran. There are about 20 people on the boat. On the first day we sail from Harvey Bay to the Whitsunday Islands and go diving at the corals. There’s a grill on the Boat and we get some delicious BBQ for dinner. On the second day we go ashore on Tongue Bay and walk through the island to Bettys Beach and Hill Inlet. It’s a wonderful beach with very fine white sand. Some stingrays are in the sea. We take lot’s of underwater pictures and some funny pictures on the beach. Back on the boat we drive to a bay to go snorkeling. The water is very warm and there are plenty of colorful fish. I shoot hundreds of underwater pictures. So glad that I got that waterproof case. We enjoy another great meal on the boat after a 30sec shower and end the day with some drinks, watching the moon and the stars. The last day on the boat starts with a very early dive/snorkeling at 7am. Even before breakfast. There are Turtles to see in the sea. After the breakfast the Captain sails the boat back to Harvey Bay. We get our luggage and check into a Hostel. In the evening we join the people from the group in a Bar nearby.
